I have now archived my previous newsletters on my website, www.artworksbyanita.com This and That.... link.

I LOVE SPRING!!!!!!!!  Fresh air, everything coming to life, baby calves, colts, lambs, birds and kitties, beautiful flowers, windows opened, clothes on the line, warm sunshine.
OOPs!  spoke too soon.

Some were confused as to how I sent the previous newsletters.  I entered all the recipient’s e-mail addresses into the Bcc: (blind carbon copy) field, which suppresses the long list of addresses and I entered mine in the To: field.  By doing this, recipients will not see who else I sent the message to, making everyone’s online experience safer and more private.

The National Wildlife Federation has just announced the winners of its 35th annual photo contest.  The winning photographs are amazing! If you're a photo buff, you'll want to check them out. Or, if you simply love wildlife, wildlife art, visit this site.

Talk about unique.......... check out www.bigeyeinthesky.com
You will need Quicktime or Java to view these.  I especially like the Ice Palace selections, Hurricane Katrina scenes, and Spoon Bridge and Cherry at the Walker in Minneapolis.  In my Different Kinds of Art unit at school, I offer video and information about Crazy Horse Memorial and Mount Rushmore.  This site is great to show these art forms in a unique way.

A ‘must see’ exhibit is Illuminating the Word:  The Saint John’s Bible at the Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha, Nebraska, through April 16, 2006.  Since March 2000, scribes and artists in Wales have been meticulously crafting The Saint John's Bible, the first handwritten, illuminated Bible made since the advent of the printing press more than 500 years ago. The Saint John's Bible is commissioned by Saint John's Abbey and University (Collegeville, MN) and executed by world-renowned calligrapher and illuminator Donald Jackson, Senior Scribe to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Crown Office, and a collaborative team of scribes and artists.  While the nearly 1,100-page manuscript is still in progress, this exhibition celebrates book, art, and scripture and features a selection of more than 60 items, including several as-yet-unbound pages (each measuring more than one foot wide and two feet tall) from the first three finished volumes (Gospels and Acts, Pentateuch, and Psalms) of this seven-volume undertaking, scheduled for completion in 2007.   This information and much more can be found at this website.  http://www.joslyn.org/specex
Arts on Grand is hosting a day-trip to see this fabulous exhibit, Good  Friday, April 14.  Call them at 712-262-4307 for the details and to sign up.  What a great way to celebrate Easter!

Time for a laugh-
3-year-old Tommy:  “Our Father, who does art in heaven, Harold is his name.  Amen”

I just received a ‘Dick Blick’ Spring sales catalogue and there are some good buys:  Arches watercolor blocks;  the Arches Aquarelle Travel Album; and a very good buy is a set of 48 Prismacolor Art Stix for $39.98.  I might suggest when checking prices of art supplies, always see what the shipping and handling is before basing your decision on the listed price of the item in the catalogue.  There can be a huge difference in companies as to that final added cost of shipping.
